I am a wife, a mother to 3 amazing children and a self made birth junky! I nerd out on all things birth and love, love, love being a part of the miracle of life.
After giving birth to my daughter 4 years ago I decided to give up my day job as a payroll specialist and dive head first into the world of labor support. I am very passionate and obsessed with a woman’s inner strength and ability to labor and birth powerfully. Having had 3 home births now, I can support and educate women wanting to give birth naturally whether your place of birth will be at home, a hospital or birth center. I have been supporting moms during their journey into motherhood for 3 years now and the blood, sweat, tears, sleepless nights, and the new babies never gets old for me.
A HUGE thank you to my husband, my children, my mother in law and friends for supporting me while I pursue my dream job. ;)
I trained for a year with Welcome Home Doula Services in Sacramento, completing their extensive hands on apprenticeship (http://www.whds.org) and I have been trained by DONA (Doulas of Northern America). I am constantly furthering my education by attending workshops and classes and meeting with other doulas and birth workers on a monthly basis. I was also a La Leche League Leader and look forward to helping you establish a breast feeding relationship that is mutually beneficial and healthy for both you and your baby.
I am enjoying life in Nevada County and appreciating the beauty that surrounds me everyday. My husband and I love to be outside with our kids and are constantly searching for new trails to explore, swimming holes to dive into, and learning to adapt to the ever changing task and difficulties of parenthood.
Along with being a birth doula, I also provide placenta encapsulation services.
